Northwest Economic Council

The Northwest Economic Council holds a key leadership position in the community as the designated Associate Development Organization (ADO) for Whatcom County. As the appointed ADO for the County, the Northwest Economic Council is the designated lead economic development agency in the Whatcom Region. In our efforts to enhance economic opportunities for the community, there are several important responsibilities that we focus on in the Region, which include: support for expansion and retention of existing businesses; assistance for relocating companies – either within or to our region; and strengthening the capacity of our local and regional economic development practitioners to best serve the identified and targeted values and needs of our community.
